3D Modelling and Simulation
Recommended Semester of Study
2nd Level of Study, 2nd Year, Winter Semester
Learning Outcomes
Students completing the course should acquire fundamental skills in 3D modeling using the professional CAD software Creo. They should be able to create part models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and animations. Creo is a professional-grade CAD system typically used in larger industrial companies. After mastering modeling in Creo, students should be able to transition to and work effectively with other CAD software packages without significant difficulty.
Brief Course Outline
- Creation of sketches.
- Creation of solid features – Part type, Solid subtype:
- creation of solid geometry by extrusion perpendicular to the sketch plane,
- creation of solid geometry by revolution,
- modification of solid geometry by material removal,
- features created by sweeping along a curve. - Creation of shell features.
- Creation of assemblies.
- Manipulation of model features.
- Model analysis.
- Creation of engineering drawings.
- Animations.
